Tim Byrd founded DealerRE in 1994 and has spent decades helping auto dealers build stronger, more profitable F&I operations through reinsurance. Based from Southeast Virginia, he launched the company with a long-term commitment to educating dealers and creating practical programs that improve efficiency, profitability, and customer experience. His leadership helped shape DealerRE into a nationwide resource for franchise, independent, and BHPH dealerships seeking dealer-owned reinsurance solutions. Tim's experience gives clients a seasoned perspective on program structure, underwriting profit retention, and operational support. Taylor Byrd serves as President of DealerRE and helps dealers understand how reinsurance can strengthen profitability, control, and long-term business value. He is a frequent speaker at national and state independent dealer association events and has discussed reinsurance opportunities on The Independent Dealer Podcast. Taylor also co-authored a book focused on building winning customer relationships, reflecting his emphasis on education and strategic growth. His background as a former Captain in the South Carolina Army National Guard informs his leadership style, bringing discipline, clarity, and accountability to the DealerRE team. Vice President of DealerRE
Parker Byrd brings direct dealership experience to his role as Vice President of DealerRE. Before joining the company in 2018, he worked at two local dealerships as both an F&I Manager and Salesman, giving him firsthand understanding of the pressures, opportunities, and day-to-day realities dealers face. That background helps him connect with clients and recommend reinsurance strategies that fit modern dealership operations. Parker also served in the Army Reserves as a CH-47 mechanic and later became a Crew-Chief, experience that reflects his disciplined, hands-on approach to leadership and execution. He supports dealers with practical insight into F&I performance, staff adoption, and program implementation, helping clients turn reinsurance from a concept into a working profit center.
Office Manager / Controller
Heather Spruill joined DealerRE in 2013 after earning her MBA and has become a key part of the company's operational and financial support structure. As Office Manager and Controller, she helps ensure clients receive responsive communication and organized administrative support throughout the life of their programs. Her attention to detail and commitment to service strengthen the day-to-day experience for dealers working with DealerRE on setup, reporting, and ongoing administration. Heather is also active in community service and holds office with the VIADA Charity Fund as Recording Secretary, reflecting her strong sense of responsibility and involvement. Kristi Cashman serves as VP of Business Development and helps DealerRE clients identify ways to improve efficiency, productivity, and profit potential through better program strategy. With a background in Strategic Management and Marketing, she brings a growth-focused perspective to dealership development and client relationships. Kristi works to help dealers understand the broader business value of reinsurance, not just as an F&I tool, but as a long-term financial strategy. Her experience as an author and speaker also supports her ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively. Brenda West brings more than 20 years of insurance industry experience to her role as Account Manager at DealerRE.
