Tim Byrd started DealerRE in 1994 in Southeast Virginia and has been helping dealers to expand their F&I programs to be more efficient and profitable ever since. With nearly three decades of reinsurance expertise, Tim pioneered comprehensive admin obligor solutions that have transformed how dealerships approach F&I profitability. His vision was simple yet revolutionary: give dealers the tools to take back profits from third-party companies and build sustainable wealth through their own reinsurance operations. DealerRE is a family company built on the foundation of Jesus Christ and the word of God, principles that guide every client relationship and business decision. Under Tim's leadership, DealerRE has grown from a regional consultancy to a nationwide partner serving over 400 auto dealers coast to coast.

Taylor Byrd is a frequent speaker at National and State Independent Dealer Association events and has been a guest on The Independent Dealer Podcast to discuss reinsurance and the opportunities that dealers have in opening their own reinsurance company. As co-author of Race To The Finish Line: Creating Winning Relationships With Customers, Taylor brings both industry thought leadership and practical implementation expertise to every client engagement. He formerly served in the South Carolina Army National Guard as a Captain and uses his Army leadership skills to help lead the DealerRE team with precision, discipline, and strategic vision. Above all, Taylor is a disciple of Jesus Christ and the great commission is his first mission. As Taylor says, DealerRE exists to have a positive impact on people, to shine the light of Christ on our clients, their customers, and our partners, and we just happen to do so through the vehicle of reinsurance.
Vice President of DealerRE
Before Parker began his career with DealerRE in 2018, he worked at two local dealerships as an F&I Manager as well as a Salesman. The experience he gained gives him the unique advantage of being able to relate to clients in today's modern dealership environment, understanding firsthand the challenges and opportunities dealers face daily. In 2015 Parker enlisted into the Army Reserves as a CH-47 Mechanic. After a year and a half of enlistment and education, he became a Crew-Chief on CH-47 Helicopters, developing the technical expertise and attention to detail that serves him well in the complex world of reinsurance administration. He is now pursuing his degree in Business Administration while applying his frontline dealership experience and military discipline to help clients optimize their F&I programs. Parker is happily married to his high school sweetheart and resides in Tappahannock, Virginia.
Office Manager / Controller
Heather began her career with DealerRE in 2013 after earning her MBA in 2012. Her commitment to clients is evident from the minute she picks up the phone and has even earned her the title of Office Queen for her exceptional organizational skills and client-first approach. Heather manages the financial operations, compliance documentation, and administrative infrastructure that keeps DealerRE running smoothly and ensures every client receives accurate, timely service. Her MBA background combined with hands-on experience in reinsurance administration makes her an invaluable resource for dealers navigating the complexities of setting up and managing their own reinsurance companies. Heather is the mother of two grown boys. In their free time, she and her husband, Greg, volunteer with the homeless and food insecure, and enjoy trips to the Outer Banks. She holds office on The VIADA Charity Fund as Recording Secretary.

With a passion to see individuals and businesses reach their highest potential, Kristi Cashman came to DealerRE with proven talents to help dealers do just that. With a degree in Strategic Management and Marketing, Kristi understands what it takes for businesses to optimize their efficiency, productivity and profit potentials through strategic reinsurance implementation. As the author of two books, Focus and You Are Perfect, Kristi brings a unique blend of business acumen and motivational expertise to every dealer consultation, helping clients see beyond traditional F&I limitations to the transformative possibilities of admin obligor reinsurance. She is a wife and mother to 5 fabulous kids. In her spare time, she speaks at women's conferences and seminars, sharing insights on business growth, personal development, and achieving excellence in all areas of life.
Account Manager
Brenda West has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and also has a financial background working as F&I Manager at a very successful dealership. This dual perspective—understanding both the insurance carrier side and the dealership operations side—makes Brenda uniquely qualified to guide dealers through the complexities of reinsurance setup, product development, and ongoing program management. Her extensive experience in claims processing, compliance requirements, and F&I product structuring ensures that DealerRE clients receive expert support at every stage of their reinsurance journey. Brenda grew up in Yorktown VA but now makes Locust Hill VA her home, bringing authentic Virginia expertise to dealers across the Southeast and beyond. Brenda has two grown sons that are a huge part of her life.
