Tim Byrd

Founder

Tim Byrd started DealerRE in 1994 in Southeast Virginia and has been helping dealers to expand their F&I programs to be more efficient and profitable ever since. With three decades of experience in the reinsurance industry, Tim has built DealerRE into the gold standard for dealer-owned reinsurance solutions. His vision has helped over 400 auto and powersports dealers across the nation capture profits that previously went to third-party providers. DealerRE is a family company that is built on the foundation of Jesus Christ and the word of God, reflecting Tim's commitment to serving dealers with integrity, excellence, and Christian values.

Taylor Byrd

President

Taylor Byrd is a frequent speaker at National and State Independent Dealer Association events and has been a guest on The Independent Dealer Podcast to discuss reinsurance and the opportunities that dealers have in opening their own reinsurance company. As co-author of Race To The Finish Line: Creating Winning Relationships With Customers, Taylor brings innovative thinking to powersports dealer F&I programs. A former Captain in the South Carolina Army National Guard, Taylor applies proven Army leadership skills to lead the DealerRE team with discipline and strategic vision. Above all, Taylor is a disciple of Jesus Christ and the great commission is his first mission. As Taylor says, DealerRE exists to have a positive impact on people, to shine the light of Christ on our clients, their customers, and our partners, and we just happen to do so through the vehicle of reinsurance.

Parker Byrd

Vice President

Before Parker began his career with DealerRE in 2018, he worked at two local dealerships as an F&I Manager as well as a Salesman, giving him hands-on experience with the challenges powersports and auto dealers face daily. This unique background allows Parker to relate directly to dealership clients and understand their F&I needs from the showroom floor perspective. In 2015 Parker enlisted into the Army Reserves as a CH-47 Mechanic. After a year and a half of enlistment and education, he became a Crew-Chief on CH-47 Helicopters, bringing military precision and attention to detail to his dealership consulting work. He is now pursuing his degree in Business Administration. Parker is happily married to his high school sweetheart and resides in Tappahannock, Virginia, where he serves DealerRE clients with dedication and practical F&I expertise.

Heather Spruill

Office Manager / Controller

Heather began her career with DealerRE in 2013 after earning her MBA in 2012, bringing financial expertise and exceptional organizational skills to the company. Her commitment to clients is evident from the minute she picks up the phone and has even earned her the title of Office Queen for her dedication to powersports and auto dealer success. Heather ensures seamless administration of reinsurance companies, managing financials, bookkeeping, compliance reporting, and client communications with precision and care. She is the mother of two grown boys. In their free time, she and her husband, Greg, volunteer with the homeless and food insecure, and enjoy trips to the Outer Banks. She holds office on The VIADA Charity Fund as Recording Secretary, demonstrating her commitment to serving the automotive dealer community both professionally and personally.

Kristi Cashman

VP of Business Development

With a passion to see individuals and businesses reach their highest potential, Kristi Cashman came to DealerRE with proven talents to help powersports and auto dealers do just that. With a degree in Strategic Management and Marketing, Kristi understands what it takes for dealerships to optimize their efficiency, productivity and profit potentials through reinsurance solutions. She works closely with dealers to analyze their F&I programs and develop customized reinsurance strategies that maximize profitability while enhancing the customer experience. Kristi is the author of two books, Focus and You Are Perfect. She is a wife and mother to 5 fabulous kids. In her spare time, she speaks at women's conferences and seminars, sharing insights on business success and personal development that also benefit the dealers she serves.

Brenda West has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and also has a financial background working as F&I Manager at a very successful dealership, giving her deep expertise in both the insurance and dealership sides of reinsurance. This dual perspective allows Brenda to serve powersports and auto dealers with exceptional insight into product structuring, claims management, and compliance requirements. Her hands-on dealership experience means she understands the daily challenges F&I managers face and can provide practical, results-driven solutions. Brenda grew up in Yorktown VA but now makes Locust Hill VA her home. Brenda has two grown sons that are a huge part of her life.
