Tim Byrd founded DealerRE in 1994 and has spent decades helping auto dealers build stronger, more profitable F&I operations through reinsurance. He launched the company in Southeast Virginia with a focus on practical guidance, long-term relationships, and dealer education. Taylor Byrd serves as President of DealerRE and helps lead dealerships through the opportunities and operational details of dealer-owned reinsurance. He is a frequent speaker at national and state independent dealer association events and has discussed reinsurance strategy on The Independent Dealer Podcast. Taylor also co-authored a book focused on building winning customer relationships, reflecting his emphasis on both profitability and client experience. His background as a former Captain in the South Carolina Army National Guard informs his disciplined, service-oriented leadership style. Vice President of DealerRE
Parker Byrd brings direct dealership experience to his role as Vice President of DealerRE. Before joining the company, he worked at two local dealerships as both an F&I Manager and Salesman, giving him firsthand insight into the daily realities of presenting products, structuring deals, and serving customers in a modern dealership environment. That background helps him relate closely to dealer principals and finance teams looking to improve performance through reinsurance. Parker also served in the Army Reserves as a CH-47 mechanic and later as a Crew-Chief, experience that reflects his discipline and operational focus. At DealerRE, he helps clients translate reinsurance strategy into practical, dealership-ready execution.

Heather Spruill has been part of DealerRE since 2013 and supports clients with the responsiveness and organization needed to keep complex programs running smoothly. With an MBA and a strong commitment to service, she plays an important role in the administrative and financial side of the business. Her attention to detail helps support the day-to-day processes behind onboarding, communication, and ongoing client care. Guaranteed Asset Protection, or GAP, waives the difference between a vehicle's insurance settlement and the remaining loan balance when the vehicle is declared a total loss.
