Tim Byrd founded DealerRE in 1994 in Southeast Virginia and has spent decades helping dealers build stronger, more profitable F&I operations through reinsurance. His work has centered on showing dealership owners how to retain underwriting profits, improve efficiency, and create long-term financial advantages through dealer-owned structures. As the founder of a family company, Tim established DealerRE with a service-first mindset and a commitment to educating dealers on practical, sustainable growth strategies. His long-standing experience in the reinsurance space has helped shape DealerRE into a trusted resource for retail and BHPH dealers nationwide seeking more control over their programs and better performance from their F&I offerings.
President
Taylor Byrd serves as President of DealerRE and helps dealers understand the strategic value of opening and operating their own reinsurance company. He is a frequent speaker at national and state independent dealer association events and has shared insights on reinsurance through industry podcast appearances and educational outreach. Taylor combines leadership, communication, and dealership-focused strategy to guide clients through program development, implementation, and long-term growth. His background includes service as a Captain in the South Carolina Army National Guard, which informs his disciplined and team-oriented leadership style. Vice President of DealerRE
Parker Byrd brings direct dealership experience to his role as Vice President of DealerRE. Before joining the company in 2018, he worked at two local dealerships as both an F&I Manager and Salesman, giving him firsthand insight into the daily realities dealers face when building profitable product programs. That background helps him relate closely to clients and recommend reinsurance structures that align with modern dealership operations. Parker also served in the Army Reserves as a CH-47 mechanic and later as a Crew-Chief, experience that reflects his discipline and operational focus. At DealerRE, he helps dealers evaluate opportunities, improve F&I performance, and implement practical systems that support stronger long-term profitability.
Office Manager / Controller
Heather Spruill joined DealerRE in 2013 after earning her MBA and has become a key part of the company's client support and operational administration. As Office Manager and Controller, she helps ensure the organization behind each reinsurance program runs smoothly, from communication and coordination to financial oversight. Her commitment to clients is reflected in the responsive, detail-oriented support she provides every day. Brenda West brings more than 20 years of insurance industry experience to her role as Account Manager at DealerRE.
