Tim Byrd founded DealerRE in 1994 in Southeast Virginia and has spent decades helping auto dealers build stronger, more profitable F&I programs through reinsurance. His work has centered on showing dealers how to retain underwriting profits, improve efficiency, and create long-term financial value through dealer-owned structures. As the founder of a family company, Tim has shaped DealerRE around service, education, and practical guidance for dealership owners navigating warranty and ancillary product opportunities. His long-standing experience in the reinsurance space gives clients confidence in both strategy and execution, especially when building programs designed to replace third-party participation with greater dealer control.

Taylor Byrd serves as President of DealerRE and helps dealers understand the opportunities available through opening and operating their own reinsurance company. He is a frequent speaker at national and state independent dealer association events and has shared insights on reinsurance through industry podcast appearances and educational discussions. Taylor also co-authored a book focused on building winning customer relationships, reflecting his emphasis on long-term dealership growth. His leadership background includes service as a Captain in the South Carolina Army National Guard, where he developed the discipline and strategic mindset he now brings to DealerRE. Vice President of DealerRE
Parker Byrd brings direct dealership experience to his role as Vice President of DealerRE. Before joining the company in 2018, he worked at two local dealerships as both an F&I Manager and Salesman, giving him firsthand understanding of the pressures and opportunities dealers face every day. That background helps him relate closely to clients and recommend reinsurance strategies that fit modern dealership operations. Parker also served in the Army Reserves as a CH-47 mechanic and later became a Crew-Chief on CH-47 helicopters, experience that reflects his discipline and operational focus. His practical dealership knowledge makes him a valuable resource for dealers looking to improve profitability through better F&I structure and execution.
Office Manager / Controller
Heather Spruill joined DealerRE in 2013 after earning her MBA and has become a key part of the company’s operational and financial support for clients. As Office Manager and Controller, she helps ensure responsive communication, organized administration, and dependable internal processes that support dealership partners. Her commitment to client service is a major part of the DealerRE experience, helping dealers feel supported from the first conversation through ongoing account management. Heather also serves as Recording Secretary for The VIADA Charity Fund, reflecting her broader commitment to service and community involvement. Kristi Cashman serves as VP of Business Development and focuses on helping businesses reach higher levels of efficiency, productivity, and profitability. Kristi helps communicate the business case for dealer-owned structures in a way that is practical and aligned with long-term goals. Brenda West brings more than 20 years of insurance industry experience to her role as Account Manager at DealerRE. She also has a financial background from working as an F&I Manager at a successful dealership, giving her a strong understanding of both insurance-related products and dealership operations.
