Founder
Tim Byrd founded DealerRE in 1994 and has spent decades helping dealerships build stronger, more profitable F&I operations through reinsurance. Based in Southeast Virginia, he launched the company with a long-term commitment to educating dealers and creating practical programs that improve efficiency, profitability, and customer experience. His background and leadership helped establish DealerRE as a trusted resource for dealer-owned reinsurance structures, especially for operators seeking more control over underwriting profits and program performance. Tim's approach has always centered on service, relationship-building, and helping dealers understand how reinsurance can become a meaningful financial asset rather than simply another vendor expense.
President
Taylor Byrd serves as President of DealerRE and helps dealerships understand the strategic value of opening and operating their own reinsurance company. He is a frequent speaker at national and state independent dealer association events and has shared insights on reinsurance through industry podcast appearances and educational outreach. Taylor combines leadership, communication, and dealership-focused strategy to help clients evaluate opportunities across ancillary products, warranties, and broader F&I structures. His experience includes co-authoring a book on customer relationships and bringing a disciplined leadership style shaped by his service as a Captain in the South Carolina Army National Guard. He works closely with dealers seeking practical, profitable, and well-supported reinsurance solutions.
Vice President of DealerRE
Parker Byrd brings direct dealership experience to his role as Vice President of DealerRE. Before joining the company in 2018, he worked at two local dealerships as both an F&I Manager and Salesman, giving him firsthand insight into the pressures, opportunities, and day-to-day realities dealers face. That background helps him connect with clients who want reinsurance programs that make operational sense inside a modern dealership. Parker supports dealers as they evaluate profit retention, product structure, and implementation strategy across F&I offerings. His practical perspective is strengthened by military service in the Army Reserves, where he served as a CH-47 mechanic and crew chief, reinforcing the discipline and accountability he brings to client relationships.

Account Manager
Brenda West is an Account Manager at DealerRE with more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, along with a financial background that includes working as an F&I Manager at a successful dealership. That combination gives her a practical understanding of both insurance structures and dealership operations, which is especially valuable when supporting clients with reinsurance programs. Brenda helps dealers navigate questions, maintain momentum, and stay informed as their programs develop. Her experience allows her to relate directly to dealership teams looking for clarity, responsiveness, and knowledgeable support. Ancillary products in insurance and F&I are optional protection products sold alongside the primary vehicle transaction. For dealerships, these can include GAP, tire and wheel protection, windshield repair, theft protection, door ding coverage, and similar offerings. In a reinsurance structure, the dealership is not simply selling the product—it is participating in the underwriting profits through its own dealer-owned reinsurance company.
