Tim Byrd

Founder

Tim Byrd founded DealerRE in 1994 in Southeast Virginia with a mission to help auto dealers expand their F&I programs to be more efficient and profitable. For nearly three decades, Tim has pioneered dealer-owned reinsurance solutions that put profits back in dealers' hands rather than sending them to third-party providers. DealerRE is a family company built on the foundation of Jesus Christ and the word of God, with core values of generosity, honor, excellence, communication, and integrity guiding every client relationship. Under Tim's leadership, DealerRE has grown to serve over 400 dealers coast to coast, helping many achieve recognition as National Quality Dealers, NIADA board members, and state dealer association leaders. Tim's vision has transformed how dealers approach F&I profitability while maintaining an unwavering commitment to ethical business practices and exceptional customer service.

Taylor Byrd

President

Taylor Byrd serves as President of DealerRE, bringing military leadership experience and deep industry expertise to the family business. A frequent speaker at National and State Independent Dealer Association events, Taylor has been featured on The Independent Dealer Podcast discussing reinsurance opportunities and the benefits of dealer-owned reinsurance companies. He co-authored "Race To The Finish Line: Creating Winning Relationships With Customers," sharing insights on building lasting customer relationships in the automotive industry. Taylor formerly served as a Captain in the South Carolina Army National Guard, where he developed the leadership skills he now uses to guide the DealerRE team. Above all, Taylor is a disciple of Jesus Christ, and the great commission is his first mission. As Taylor says, "DealerRE exists to have a positive impact on people, to shine the light of Christ on our clients, their customers, and our partners, and we just happen to do so through the vehicle of reinsurance."

Parker Byrd

Vice President of DealerRE

Parker Byrd joined DealerRE in 2018 after gaining valuable frontline experience working at two local dealerships as both an F&I Manager and Salesman. This hands-on experience gives Parker a unique advantage in relating to clients and understanding the daily challenges of today's modern dealership F&I operations. In 2015, Parker enlisted in the Army Reserves as a CH-47 Mechanic, advancing to become a Crew-Chief on CH-47 Helicopters after a year and a half of training and education. He continues to serve while pursuing his degree in Business Administration. Parker's combination of military discipline, dealership experience, and technical expertise makes him an invaluable resource for dealers looking to optimize their F&I programs through reinsurance. Parker is happily married to his high school sweetheart and resides in Tappahannock, Virginia, where he balances his military service, education, and commitment to helping DealerRE clients succeed.

Heather Spruill

Office Manager / Controller

Heather Spruill began her career with DealerRE in 2013 after earning her MBA in 2012, bringing sophisticated financial management and exceptional client service to the company. Her commitment to clients is evident from the minute she picks up the phone, earning her the well-deserved title of Office Queen. Heather manages the financial operations and administrative functions that keep DealerRE running smoothly, ensuring clients receive accurate, timely support for their reinsurance companies. As Controller, she oversees all financial reporting, bookkeeping, and compliance filings—critical functions that allow dealers to focus on their core business while DealerRE handles the complex administrative requirements of reinsurance. Heather is the mother of two grown boys and, in her free time, she and her husband Greg volunteer with the homeless and food insecure, demonstrating the values of generosity and service that define the DealerRE culture. She holds office on The VIADA Charity Fund as Recording Secretary.

Kristi Cashman joined DealerRE with a passion to help individuals and businesses reach their highest potential, bringing proven talents in strategic management and marketing to the Vice President of Business Development role. With a degree in Strategic Management and Marketing, Kristi understands what it takes for businesses to optimize efficiency, productivity, and profit potential—expertise she applies daily in helping dealers discover and maximize their reinsurance opportunities. As an author of two books, "Focus" and "You Are Perfect," Kristi brings a unique perspective on personal and professional growth to her work with dealer clients.
